Bear With Me...

For those (or none) of you that are visiting my hours old blog, because of certain time constraints, such as studying and life, I am currently not finished with this blog quite yet. However, stay tuned to ahava122 because I am excited to discuss, incite insight, and learn. My prayer is that this blog can be a tool for all of us to grow in the beautiful name of Jesus Christ. Again, thanks for journeying with me...

What's In A Name?

What does ahava122 mean? Some of you (or maybe one or nobody) who may read this new blog and first ever blog post may ponder the meaning of this title and, even, this blog. I wonder myself. I feel led to create this blog - to connect to various communities from all over the world - and I am not sure how God will work. This could flop. Who knows? But that is precisely why I am anxious to create. I anticipate the future of this blog, this world, this life.

Ahava. This word may not even sound english to some. And for those, they are correct. Ahava is not an english word but is the transliteration of a Hebrew word meaing "love." However, the term 'ahava' is a term used in Hebrew to mean a sacrificial love; a love that is more than saying that, "I love pizza." Ahava is total, complete, everything. If one ahava's something or someone, that one finds completeness in that particulaer thing or person. That one would sacrifice anything, everything, even him or herself for that thing or person. Ahava is the reason why people exist.

So, is 122 a number given to the end of the title because there were 121 previous ahava's being used in blogger? Actually, no. 122 comes from Colossians 1:22, which says,

"But now He has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation." (NIV)

Ahava is the total sacrificial love enacted by our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is not mine, but He is ours - all of humanity's. Colossians 1:22 is an explanation of the meaning of Jesus' ahava! There is new life. There is new purpose. There is new passion. The ahava of Jesus Christ for humanity before, then, and now, is the sole, exclusive reason for why I am breathing and living and existing on this Earth. This is where our journey begins. And I appreciate your company...
